Unique jewelry displays set the tone in art and craft show booths. Use these affordable ideas to create eye-catching displays with character.

Jewelry displays must match the personality of the jewelry. Funky, artistic jewelry may have a more colorful or even psychedelic background, while other jewelry looks best against a plain black or white background. A wood-themed booth shows off silver jewelry or mixed-color jewelry very well.

Consistency and artistry in the display are as important as portability and ease of set-up. When visualizing how jewelry will look best in the display, keep the following practical ideas in mind.

Gridwall Display Panels and Portable Display Panels Give Height to an Exhibit

Jewelry show displays, like almost all trade show displays, require height for visibility. Lightweight, portable gridwalls set up easily and are versatile enough to change the display as needed.

Freestanding gridwalls are available in both white and black. If jewelry is displayed on velvet panels, these panels can be attached to the gridwall.

For a funky or more colorful booth, fabric of any choice may be draped over the lightweight display panel with jewelry pinned on it. Gridwalls and portable freestanding panels are efficient use of space in a small display booth. Don't let wall space be wasted.

Tabletop Display Risers

It is not necessary to purchase expensive tabletop display risers, but it is necessary to create height on the table. Some jewelry makers display everything flat on the table. This causes customers to crowd each other while leaning over the table and trying to see. Creating height on the table makes jewelry visible from farther away and results in better sales.

Arrange tables inside three walls of the booth. Before draping fabric over the tables, place cheap risers on the table. For example, use:

  • Wooden bathroom shelves
  • Sturdy cardboard boxes, such as an L.L.Bean shoebox
  • Storage tubs that house jewelry when traveling
  • Wooden blocks

Some items, such as empty plastic storage tubs, will need to be weighed down with either a brick or some wooden blocks.

After arranging and anchoring cheap display risers, drape the display booth fabric over the tables and risers. Ensure there is enough fabric to cover everything and still reach the floor for the best look. There is now a variety of heights on the tabletop display.

Now place tabletop display supplies, such as busts, ring displays, and earring racks on the various levels.

Clear acrylic display risers may be placed either on top of the tablecloth or underneath it. And pretty tabletop display risers are available for purchase, if desired. However achieved, height is of the utmost importance.

Jewelry Display Boxes

Even jewelry display boxes and trays that keep the jewelry protected under glass may be tipped up instead of laid flat on the table. Place a piece of wood or brick under the tablecloth and rest the top of the flat display box on top of it.

Portable Jewelry Display Racks and Portable Earring Racks

Tabletop wooden trees are easy to make and are a wonderful way to display bracelets or earrings. Craft more than one for different sets of jewelry. For each wooden tree display, start with a thick dowel at least 1 inch in diameter. How long is optional, but for a tabletop display, 30 inches may be best.

Measure the hanging length of the jewelry to be displayed on the tree. For example, bracelets may need 6 inches to hang freely. Leaving enough room between each hole, drill holes through the sides of the dowel. Insert smaller dowels through the holes. Jewelry will hang on these smaller dowels.

Use screws or use a hot glue gun to attach the bottom of the thick dowel to a square piece of wood. This allows the tree to stand.

Paint or stain the tree. For a more unique look, wrap fabric around the tree to match the decor of the craft booth display. Attach fabric to tree with small nails and a hammer.

To display larger pieces on homemade wooden tree racks, drape fabric across the horizontal dowels and display a necklace over the fabric.

Last but not least, any jewelry display booth must have multiple mirrors. In addition to a couple of tabletop mirrors placed in different spots, try hanging a full-length mirror in one corner of the booth.
